Hey, howzit?
We're getting married! Join us in Cape Town over Easter 2024 as we celebrate starting the rest of our lives together. Many of you have witnessed us falling in love over the past four years — our story has been big and beautiful and serendipitous, and in every way and at every stage, just so very right. We want to take this next step surrounded by family and friends and allow those closest to us to be part of our next chapter. Although we met in Hong Kong, we're lucky enough to have special people in our many homes around the world. We're beyond excited to bring everyone together under the mountains of Wellington, just outside Cape Town. Anyone who knows us knows how much we love to gather over food, drinks and good conversation (and lots of dancing!), so please join us for a weekend we'll remember forever. Cape Town is Simone's home and Bizhan's new kind-of-sort-of-home. We can't wait to see you, give you a glimpse into both of our cultures and teach you what 'howzit' means! Love, Simone and Bizhan

Accommodation in Wellington
Since Wellington is a small but popular town we suggest booking your accommodation sooner rather than later. Wellington is about an hour’s drive from Cape Town. You can rent a car, carpool with other guests or hire an Uber or driver. We’ve listed some hotels and B&Bs for you here, but Airbnb has plenty of excellent options too, especially for larger groups.
Accommodation in Cape Town
If you're planning to stay in Cape Town either side of the wedding, there is no shortage of hotels and Airbnbs. Start by choosing one of our favourite areas below... City Centre (Tamboerskloof/Gardens/St George's Mall): Vibrant areas where most of the action is. Great restaurants, bars, shopping and easy access to most things, all at the foot of Table Mountain. Lots of hotel & Airbnb options. Sea Point (where we live): A 10-minute drive from the City Centre and sandwiched between the mountain and the ocean, Sea Point a more walkable neighbourhood with good coffee, delis and restaurants. It has a long beach promenade and a tidal pool if you fancy braving the Atlantic for a dip! It's slightly quieter than the City Centre. Some hotel options, and plenty of Airbnbs. Need help? We've listed a few of our favourites as well as some in our neighbourhood, and just ask if you have any questions about a potential area before you book.
FAQ
You've got questions, we've got answers
How long should I spend in Cape Town?
If you can swing the time off work (or can work remotely), Cape Town is a brilliant place to spend a couple of weeks. You could even book a safari in the surrounding region. We're working on a list of our favourite spots and activities, which we'll share with everyone nearer the time.
How will we get around?
We'd recommend driving to get around within Cape Town and when travelling outside of town. Uber is the easiest way to get around in the city, but you could also consider hiring a car for some or all of your trip if you'd like. For the wedding weekend, you can Uber (or similar), book a driver/shuttle or hire a car/carpool to Wellington. Let us know if you need any help arranging this. We will be arranging transport for the 10-minute drive between the wedding venue and Wellington — more info coming soon.
Gifts?
We aren’t expecting any gifts. We know many of you are travelling from afar, so spending the weekend with you is a gorgeous gift in itself. If you would still like to make a gesture, you are welcome to contribute an amount towards our new life together. For those who have already asked, our bank details are as follows: Hong Kong: Bizhan Govindji, FPS identifier: bgovindji@gmail.com UK: Bizhan Govindji, RBS, Account Number 10177529, Sort Code 160102 South Africa: Bizhan Govindji, FNB, Easy Account, Account Number: 63066620668, Branch Code: 250655
Dress code: Outdoor formal
We know you're a fashionable bunch, so we wouldn't dream of giving you dress code that's too constraining. Neutral or bold, ‘fash’ or classic, Western or Indian or anything in between, please wear whatever you feel great in and wear it with style. We'll be dressing up, and we hope you'll join us. (Men: Lounge suits, sherwanis or your take on formal summer attire Women: Cocktail dresses, sets, pant suits, lehengas or saris) The practical stuff: We're hoping to be outside for as much of the day as possible. Wellington is surrounded by mountains so it can get quite hot, but it will be cooler in the evening. The dance floor is concrete but the rest of the venue is lawn. The day-after lunch (at Vygie): There is no dress code as such, but we’ll be outdoors (weather permitting) and are hoping for a fabulous afternoon. Think linen, billowing dresses and light colours (or your version of the above). There is a dam for swimming so remember to pack swimsuits and towels!
Do you have a handy 'Cape Town Guide' for us?
Would you believe it, we do! We’ve put together a list (and linked Google map) of some of our favourite Cape Town spots. It’s by no means exhaustive but it’s a good place to start planning your itinerary or marking things on your map (and making reservations if you need to).
