The Short Version:
The theme of our wedding is a then-and-now look at our lives together in LA. The day time portion, ceremony and dinner, captures the tone of our lives in LA today in our 30s. The evening and night time portion — the reception, with activities, drinks, and dancing — is more reminiscent of our lives when we met in our 20s.
Our wedding is less of a formal ceremony and more of an organic celebration commemorating our love story. The vibe we’re going for is somewhere between an outdoor picnic with friends at a park in LA combined with a night out at a trendy new spot in East Hollywood.
The Vibe:
Our goal is to create something less traditional and more experiential — something unique that focuses on creating great moments with the people we love. We’re aiming for something celebratory, communal, and fun, with every ceremonial aspect chosen intentionally.
Later on, the dance floor will be reminiscent of Lily and Ryan’s heyday at the Satellite (RIP) or the Echoplex circa 2017 — but with an open bar (and some other surprise activities).
If you’re on the invite list for our wedding, it shouldn’t surprise you that it basically comes with a brand briefing, but hey, this is who we are (a Hollywood event planner and a copywriter)!
Here’s a guide to the rest of other logistics and some FAQ’s
Dress Code:
Outdoor cocktail attire — floral colors, fun dresses, and pantsuits or comfortable dress pants and shoes, linen dress shirts, and lighter sportcoats and jackets. Wear something you’ll be comfortable in for dinner and dancing until midnight on a June day in LA (62-79°F on average). Above all, our priority is for our guests to be comfortable at our wedding!
Reception:
The reception and dancing are both at the venue as well. Since we’re going for a somewhat casual energy, feel free to wander around!
Dinner:
Dinner will be outside at the venue’s decorated picnic tables, featuring the best local vegan food the city has to offer.
