BON VOYAGE, PAR AVION Our wedding venue, Château de Tourreau is located in the rolling countryside of Avignon, in the heart of the Chateauneuf du Pape wine region in France. The best way to access Avignon is by flight to Paris or Marseille. The closest airport to our venue is Marseille (MRS) which is 1 hour by car. This is the EASIEST if you are planning to hire/ rent a car and drive to Hotel d'Europe. You can also fly into Paris (and enjoy Paris for a day or two), and then book a high speed train from in Paris / the airport to Avignon where you can rent a car or hire a taxi to Hotel d' Europe. Tip: Remember you can rent a car at one airport and return at another. CAR SERVICES There are Ubers in Paris and Marseille but not in Provence. We would definitely not recommend trying to take an Uber from the airport to our wedding venue/area. Arrange for a driver or rent a car in advance. CHAUFFEURS TO PROVENCE FROM MARSEILLE AIRPORT For those flying into Marseille and not renting a car, there are several car service and drivers available to take you to Provence from the airport. They are available at Marseille Airport for whatever your needs may be. They have cars from sedans to SUVs and mini buses depending on the size of your group. RENTAL CARS You will love renting a car if you are flying into Marseille as you will be exploring along the way. Coordinate with a group of friends or family if you can match your flights up. Auto Europe is a great car broker website that can help you bid for your rental car. Otherwise Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt are the standard rental companies. Typically we rent from Avis or Hertz. REMEMBER TO BOOK AN AUTOMATIC CAR. Manual is the norm in Europe.
