Own our wedding website templates and matching stationery suites end-to-end. Design for web and print, ship what people actually choose, learn from the data, and iterate fast. You’ll also help shape our brand as we grow.
About the role
We’re a founder‑led company building wedding websites, digital invitations, and stationery that couples genuinely enjoy using. People choose a style, then want everything to match — the website, the invite, the save‑the‑date, the thank you card. Your job is to make those suites feel intentional and consistent.
This is an in‑person role in Melbourne. You’ll work directly with the founders day‑to‑day, not as a small cog in a big machine, but as the person owning one of the most visible and important parts of the product. Your work will directly shape how couples experience (and remember) one of the most important events of their lives.
We’re a small team and we hire managers of one. That means you’re comfortable owning your domain, managing your own time, setting direction, and shipping work independently — with support and guidance when you want it or when it’s needed.
As part of the process, shortlisted candidates will complete a small paid design exercise based on a real problem.
What you'll do
- Own our wedding website template catalogue: new themes, variations, collections, and improvements to existing templates.
- Design stationery suites (save the dates, invitations, thank you cards) that match each template family.
- Design for the web: create responsive, production‑ready designs that work within real technical constraints.
- Maintain consistency across the full “wedding suite” — typography, layout rules, tone, spacing, imagery direction.
- Run a “measure → learn → design” loop using what people actually choose (and what they ignore) to guide future design direction.
- Design and iterate landing pages for experiments to improve conversion.
- Contribute to our brand styleguide and visual standards so everything feels cohesive.
- Work closely with our development team to see designs through to production.
What we're looking for
Must have:
- Strong visual design fundamentals (type, hierarchy, composition, taste).
- Portfolio showing cohesive systems and families of designs, not just one‑offs.
- Experience designing for the web and working with a development team.
- Basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS (enough to design within real constraints and communicate clearly with developers).
- Comfort designing across web templates and stationery.
- Ability to manage your own time and direction without constant oversight.
- Clear communication and a collaborative working style.
Nice to have:
- Conversion‑focused landing page work and experimentation experience.
- Experience building or maintaining a brand style guide.
- Print production knowledge (bleeds, colour profiles, specs) or willingness to learn.
- Interest in expanding into more web app UI work over time, if that’s of interest to you.
Benefits
- Real ownership: you’re not supporting someone else’s design work — you run the function.
- Direct access to founders and real influence over product direction.
- Small team, low ceremony, lots shipped.
- Work that gets seen, used, and shared with real people.
- Paid design exercise for finalists.
- Tools and equipment you need to do excellent work.
