Our Story
Bumping into each other on campus during Milly's first (and Toby's seventh) freshers week would have been the perfect start to our story if only Milly had remembered the next morning. Many unresponded messages and secret volleyball viewings later, we finally reconnected in the iconic Sub Zero - and after a trip to Colchester Zoo to feed some giraffes, we were pretty inseparable. The days of Essex University very much behind us, we've shared so much and squeezed as many memories as possible into our 8 years as a couple. Spending time with each other's families, travelling the world and many, many meals out. Supporting each other through our respective sporting journeys, some more competitive than others. Milly (eventually) learning to ski and Toby (very slowly) learning how to cook something other than sausage and bean pasta. Often being ridiculed by our friends as the good time couple who are always out and about, we wouldn't have had it any other way. It made our recent trip to Lisbon all the more enjoyable. After Toby proposed in a restaurant overlooking the city, we were able to spend the next 3 days celebrating in each other's companies. Exploring, eating and drinking our ways through what was one of the best and most memorable weekends of our lives to date. Which brings us to now. 9 months engaged and SO excited to be planning our wedding. Thinking about all the small details and more importantly, the people we want to share our special day with. Which if you're reading this, is you!

Wedding Party
We're so lucky to have a cracking line up of bridesmaids and groomsmen next summer.
Evie
Sister and best friend. The complete opposite of Milly but somehow making it work all those years after being hit in the head with a rounders bat (it was an accident).
Hannah
The reason Milly made it through sixth form. An incredibly loyal and caring human. You'll find Hannah asking the bar staff which tonic water they think will best compliment her canape.
Mechell
Former volleyball teammate and better known as Big Meech, Mechell will (thankfully) be bringing up the average height in the bridesmaid line up. Incredibly knowledgeable in pop music and English football.
Rosie
Ride or die WAG and Pop World enthusiast who has taught Milly everything she needs to know about marrying a Suffolk boy. Life and soul of the party. Not to be confused with her (equally beautiful) identical twin, Ellie.
Caellagh
Owner of C-Dawg's Rachet Salon, who is always on hand for airwrap tutorials and rapid fake tan applications. Will be wearing very high heels next summer to feature in any photos.
Dave
Brother number 1 and core of the alliance. Bawden quiz champion who is always on hand for more than just medical advice. Will not be on call on August 8th 2024.
Matt
Brother number 2 and often the hero of younger Toby growing up. Former bad influence and fellow cricket enthusiast (bowled Bawden, stumped Bawden).
Sam
Brother number 3 (thankfully the last) and leader of the Boy Dem. Better known as Captain Sensible but everyone needs a Sam in their team.
Aaron
Best mate and childhood friend from aged 11 and, along with Rosie, our favourite double date companions. Competitive all round sportsman but still terrible at Padel.
Rory
Where to start?! Partner in crime and mutual bad influence, known for always getting into mischief together growing up. Thankfully now tamed (thanks Katie!)
Stu
Oldest friend and born only one day apart from Toby in the very same hospital. Been through it all together; an all round top bloke with great taste in beer.
Tom
Just missing out on the trophy being born only 2 days before Toby. Often bringing the best dance moves, vibes and keeping Shanter classy.

Our Gift Registry
In the famous words of Toby Bawden, your presence is presents enough. We feel so lucky to be spending our special day with all of our nearest and dearest. However, should you wish to honour us with a gift, we would massively appreciate any contributions to our honeymoon, which we’re hoping to spend in South Africa. A real upgrade from Colchester zoo! Alternatively, we’re big London foodies, so any vouchers to your favourite eats would be amazing and so appreciated.
Frequently Asked Questions
To save time, we've put together a list of frequently asked questions and answers below.
What should I wear?
Go all out! We've decided on a summer garden party theme so please dress to impress in your loveliest summer wedding outfits.
Are children invited?
In order to ensure the best celebration for all, including parents, we have decided for our wedding to be an adults-only event, with the exception of our six Bawden nieces and nephews. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the little ones at home so you can celebrate with us in true style.
Can I bring a +1?
We are excited to celebrate our special day with our closest friends and family. Due to limited space, we regret that we are unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those specifically named on the invitations.
Will there be a free bar?
The most important question of all. All food and drinks will, of course, be paid for throughout our celebrations. This is with the exception of the next day at The Cliff House, where we will be providing your first drink and some food.
How do I get from Highcliffe Castle to Pylewell House?
We will not be providing transport between our two venues, so please plan your journey ahead of time. The total travel time by car from Highcliffe Castle to Pylewell House should be around 20 minutes.
