Discover how to revolutionize your wedding planning with the power of QR codes! From streamlining your guests' experience to sharing important details, we've got you covered.

As well as being an excellent tool in the marketing and hospitality sectors QR codes are becoming increasingly popular for wedding planning couples too. Their primary purpose is to be able to provide information to a smartphone user, quickly. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t like to streamline their systems and communications, especially when it comes to such a big event! You can simply scan the QR code using your phone camera and you will be immediately directed to the relevant place, usually a website.

One of Say I do’s biggest and most popular features is our wedding website service. Couples are able to design and build their own bespoke wedding website, acting as a home for all of their wedding information in the same theme / colour palette as their wedding. Couples can even send digital invitations from here too, or at least direct guests here to RSVP once their wedding invitations arrive in the post. This is where QR codes come in really handy!

Whilst sending e-vites are a cheaper, more eco-friendly way to invite your guests to your big day we know and understand that a lot of couples still love to send a physical invite. But you can’t share all your important information on a couple of sheets of paper. Wedding invitations need to contain so much more these days, from the venue locations to the logistics, to the order of the day, to wedding registry information and potential guest accommodation options. And that’s just the basics! The best way to share all the crucial details and let your guests browse at their leisure is by popping it on your own personalised Say I do wedding website. To make things even easier for your guests, simply create a QR code that links to this wedding website and include that with the invitation design. Now that pretty much everyone owns a smartphone, they can simply scan the QR code, head directly to your site, read all about your exciting plans AND RSVP!

QR Code Tips for Wedding Invitations

  1. You can create your own QR code with Say I do’s Platinum Package
  2. If you create one elsewhere, they’re typically black and white. You can opt for a different colour combination but make sure it’s a dark colour with a light for contrast and easy scanning
  3. Make multiple if you like – one for your wedding website, one for RSVPs, one for booking accommodation etc.
  4. Remember to test!
  5. Whilst including a QR code on your wedding invitations makes things super easy for your guests you might also want to include the wedding website link too – just in case!

There are a number of other ways you can get the most out of QR codes for your wedding such as linking to an online guestbook, sharing a QR code with your guests along with a personalised hashtag might encourage them to share and post their images and stories to Instagram and tag you in it! You could even include a QR code on your guests’ wedding breakfast tables so that they can browse the menu before the meal and / or a drinks menu could work too.

Remember that older guests might not feel totally comfortable with too much tech so remember to use QR codes to enhance your guests’ experience / to share information, not to replace it.
