Our Love Story
Our story began after lockdown when we met online through mutual friends. What started as a simple connection quickly turned into something neither of us expected.
Perez: “My first impression of Vwaire was that she was incredibly attractive. I loved how tall she was, and I was instantly drawn to how well she spoke.”
Vwaire: “Honestly, I thought Perez was way too handsome to actually like me!”
Despite the distance, we built a strong connection through constant communication as we navigated a long-distance relationship. It was during this time that we realised what we had was something truly special — something worth holding onto.
When it came to the proposal, Perez had secretly planned something special.
The original plan was to propose on our five-year anniversary from when we met, but putting all the pieces together proved difficult. So, Plan B took us to Paris.
Everything had been beautifully arranged at our hotel for a surprise proposal.
Vwaire: “When Perez got down on one knee, I was completely gobsmacked — filled with joy, excitement, and shock at how he managed to keep such a huge secret from me, especially with my friends and family knowing!”
One of the many things we love about each other is our shared love for food - we proudly consider ourselves self-proclaimed food critics! We also enjoy travelling, cinema dates, and trying new experiences together. One of our most treasured memories is our first holiday to Nice in the South of France.
We complement each other perfectly.
Perez: “I’d say I’m the calm and reserved one…”
Vwaire: “…and I definitely bring the fun, spontaneity and energy!”
Together, we push each other outside our comfort zones, always reminding ourselves of our favourite saying:
“It’s always us against whatever situation we are in.”
And honestly, you know you’ve found the one when you can happily go and grab a pizza together at Costco.
As we prepare to marry our best friend and the love of our lives, surrounded by family and friends, we hope everyone experiences the joy, culture and traditions that mean so much to us.
