Airport Information: Porto (OPO) - Around 1 hour 30 mins from town centre Lisbon (LIS) - Around 2 hours from town centre Faro (FAO) - Around 5 hours from town centre Getting to Figueira Da Foz: There are several options of transport from the airport into the town centre. You have the options of trains, buses, taxis or car hire. Please see all details below: TRAINS - there are several types of train but hopefully the below gives you a brief overview. AP - Alfa pendular (high speed, stops 2-3 times during the journey) IC - Inter Cidades (medium speed, stops 4-5 times during the journey) IR - Inter Regional (medium speed, stops 9-10 during the journey) R - Regional (medium speed, stops 20-25 times during the journey, not the best option!) U - Urbano - (medium speed, just goes from Coimbra B or Alfarelos to Figuiera. Stops everywhere but is a better option than the regional. This one you will have to take no matter what, except if you take the IR that takes you directly to Figueira. TRAINS FROM PORTO: From Porto Airport you have the underground inside the airport and then you will need to buy a ticket to Campanhã. Then you buy a train ticket to Figueira. In Coimbra B you will have to change trains to Figueira. TRAINS FROM LISBON: From Lisbon Airport you have the underground inside the airport and then you will need to buy a ticket to Oriente station. Then you buy a train ticket to Figueira. In Coimbra B you will have to change trains to Figueira.. TRAINS FROM FARO: From Faro Airport you will need to take a taxi to Faro train station, Then buy a train ticket to Figueira. In Coimbra B you will have to change trains to Figueira. Once you arrive at Figueria Station there will be taxi's available to take you directly to your hotels. Where to stay: We would recommend staying in the centre of Figueira rather than near the venue location to make sure facilities are accessible. We have provided a list of hotels below which would be suitable. We would also suggest having a look on Booking.com or Airbnb as these may have cheaper options for more people. Please use location Figueria da Foz in your search. Please be aware Figueria is not a massive tourist location so will be mainly filled with locals. We have mentioned Faro Airport above as this is the closest airport to the Algarve which is considered the top holiday location within the country. If you are looking at staying more than a couple of days this may be a good location to fly home from incase you want to spend some time 'on holiday' before or after the celebrations!
