Our Love Story
We met in April 2022 through an app called Coffee Meets Bagel. At that point in our lives, we were both ready—we had grown into ourselves, felt settled in our careers, and knew we were looking for something real. Neither of us expected much from an app, but something about our first conversation felt different. Easy. Comfortable. Familiar.
We bonded over so many things—our love for movies, trying new food, and exploring new places. But what really stood out was how deeply we both loved our grandparents. It was a quiet, unspoken understanding that made us feel seen by each other in a way we had not experienced before.
Our first date was on Mother’s Day, walking under the cherry blossoms in High Park. The day was peaceful, full of soft pink petals and that quiet kind of excitement that comes with meeting someone who just gets you. There was no big moment or dramatic spark—just the kind of calm certainty that felt like, “This is it.”
As time went on, we learned that we are opposites in many ways—but the kind of opposites that fit together naturally. One of us grounds the other, one lifts the other up. We challenge each other, laugh with each other, and have grown so much through each other. Somewhere between all the meals, the movie nights, the long talks, and the quiet mornings, we became something solid. Something steady.
It did not take long for us to know we had found the person we wanted to walk through life with. The feeling was simple, clear, and true.
