Ruth & Nicolas

"Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favourite." --------------------------------- Once upon a time --------------------------------- Ruth and Nicolas first met in their adolescent years, in the days when it was “cool” for Millennials to hang out and roam around Eastgate Mall on a Friday night. Nicolas, being the shy cool cat Greko he was, would often go to the mall on a Friday night (with his friends) where Ruth worked as a part-time casual on weekends. Whilst waiting outside the famous “Entrance 5”, for her mom to pick her up after her Friday night shift, it was there where it all began. The cool kids would always arrive and hang out at entrance 5, and so it was inevitable that they would cross paths, with a mutual friend introducing them to each other, and the odd chat would follow every now and then. --------------------------------- 12•02•2017 The First Day --------------------------------- Growing into adulthood life took its course, and they lost touch with each other for a good number of years until the summer of December 2016, when their paths crossed again by fate, at a continental social evening at Scarlet Ribbon in Greenstone. Not having connected that night, but with a little help from social media, Nicolas gained up the courage and made contact with Ruth via Instagram the next day. They exchanged numbers and started chatting on a more regular basis, and soon after an optimistic casual first date followed. They continued to text more and more and hung out a few times before the sealing moment came a couple of weeks later, which would ultimately launch their relationship. --------------------------------- 20•05•2023 The Yes Day --------------------------------- Fast forward six years later, facing life’s ebb and flow, navigating challenges, weathering storms and sharing incredible memories, the proposal happened on a quiet Spring evening, over a candlelight dinner, at a restaurant located in the cobblestone alleys at the heart of the quaint village of Portimão in Algarve. --------------------------------- 02•11•2024 The Best Day --------------------------------- "True love stories never have endings." - Richard Bach
