We know it's a long way to come so we appreciate the opportunity to spend our special day with you in Sri Lanka! Our venue, the Heritance Kandalama, is nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle. So we have planned for an Adventure Day where we will organise a number of excursions from climbing Sigiriya Rock to watching Wild Elephants at dusk. There's quite a lot to do and see in Sri Lanka so, to help you plan your trip, we've put together a list of some of our favourite places and recommendations. We can't wait to celebrate with you! Dambulla 🛕 The gateway to Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle and where our wedding will be! • Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient murals and statues. • Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress for panoramic views and ancient royal ruins. Kandy 🚣🏽‍♂️ A scenic city on a lake surrounded by hills. • Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world. • Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Nuwara Eliya ⛰️ A cool-climate hill station known as “Little England” with tea plantations and colonial charm. • Tour the Damro tea factory and plantation, and sample fresh Ceylon tea. Ella 🛤️ A laid-back mountain town with breathtaking views, waterfalls, and hiking trails. • Snap photos on the Nine Arches Bridge as a train passes through the lush valley. • Hike to Little Adam’s Peak for stunning views of the surrounding hills. Yala 🐆 A wildlife-rich national park famous for its leopards, elephants, and safari adventures. • Go on a jeep safari to spot leopards, sloth bears, and other wildlife. Weligama 🏄🏾 A laid-back beach town known for surf, yoga and seafood. • Take a surf lesson or simply relax on the sandy beaches. • Visit Kuma Seafood restaurant at fish point for the freshest seafood we've ever had! Galle 🏰 A charming fortified city blending Dutch colonial architecture with a vibrant artsy vibe. • Stroll through Galle Fort, exploring boutique shops and cafes.
