Valletta
Valletta is Malta’s beautiful historic capital, full of stunning architecture, sea views, and charming streets to explore on foot. A visit to St John’s Co-Cathedral is a must, while the Upper Barrakka Gardens offer some of the best views over the Grand Harbour. Be there at noon for the daily BOOM!! The cannon is fired from the saluting battery daily at 12:00 and 16:00 (excluding Sundays).
Take time to wander through the city’s elegant squares, cafés, and narrow streets, or visit historic sites such as Fort St Elmo and Casa Rocca Piccola. For a scenic outing, you can also take a short ferry ride across the harbour to the Three Cities.
Valletta is perfect for sightseeing, relaxed lunches, sunset drinks, and soaking up the atmosphere before or after the wedding. Strait street is renown for live late-night music and bars.
You will also find a gorgeous little shop with local art along the main street which has been newly opened by my cousin Tom :) - Hollywood
Mdina & Rabat
For a quieter and more traditional side of Malta, Mdina and Rabat are well worth visiting. Mdina, the island’s old capital, is known for its beautiful limestone streets, historic palaces, and peaceful atmosphere, while nearby Rabat offers charming local cafés, churches, and important historical sites.
Together, they are perfect for a relaxed afternoon of wandering, sightseeing, and enjoying a slower pace away from the coast. We've attached links below to a few of our favourite places.
Is-Serkin (aka Crystal Palace) for Malta's famous Pastizzi
The Confession - Quirky cocktail bar
Fontanella - Best chocolate cake on the island with a view
Gozo & Victoria
For those wanting to explore beyond Malta, Gozo offers beautiful scenery, a slower pace, and a more rural feel. The island is known for its charming villages, coastal views, and relaxed atmosphere, making it a wonderful day trip.
At the heart of the island is Victoria, Gozo’s main town, where you can wander through lively streets, visit local shops and cafés, and explore the historic Citadel, which offers lovely panoramic views across the island. Together, Gozo and Victoria are perfect for a day of sightseeing, lunch, and discovering a different side of Malta.
If short on time, you can zoom around on a quad bike.
Għajn Tuffieħa & Golden Bay
For a classic Maltese beach day, Għajn Tuffieħa and Golden Bay are two of the island’s most beautiful sandy beaches. Both are known for their golden sand, clear water, and lovely sunset views, making them perfect for swimming, relaxing, and spending a laid-back afternoon by the sea.
They are close to each other on Malta’s northwest coast, so it’s easy to visit both and enjoy some of the island’s best coastal scenery.
FYI there are 186 steps to reach Għajn Tuffieħa bay, but they are well worth it!!
(Please keep in mind, you will need to go back up!).
Blue Lagoon, Comino
The Blue Lagoon on Comino is one of Malta’s most famous beauty spots, known for its crystal-clear turquoise water and stunning coastal scenery. It’s a popular place for swimming, sunbathing, and boat trips, and is perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing day by the sea.
Please be aware that to help protect the island you now have to book in advance to visit. This is to stop overcrowding and help keep the area protected. Booking link below :)
