Shayla & Trenton

Shayla and Trent first met on Easter Sunday in 2017. Trent told a wild story about just getting out of jail and Shayla was too busy with nursing school to get too wrapped up in the wild adventures of her cousin and best friend. Fast forward to March of 2019 when Will (Shay's cousin and Trent's best friend) decided to set them up. Their first date was fishing on the Jefferson, where Trent loaded up his hook with worms and somehow caught Shayla's glasses on the back cast. They shared their first kiss later that night and began dating on April 21, 2019. It did not take long before the decision to start a family was made and Cormac Matthew Maloney was born on December 31, 2020, in the middle of a pandemic. Their family grew once again on August 29, 2023 with the birth of their little girl Fiadh Kay Maloney. On May 25, 2024 a family side by side ride was organized and much to Shayla's unexpected surprise Cormac asked his mom not one, not two, but three times "Will you marry my dad?" before Shayla turned around to find Trent on one knee. There was a lot of tears but zero hesitation when Shayla said yes!
