Our Love Story
IF YOU ASK STACI: I've always had a desire for a partner before I came to know the Lord; once I became Christian, this desire grew stronger. I would take the time to write out what I was looking for in a guy and I would pray to God about it. I described to God what I wanted my dream man to be like; I would wait patiently for God to bring us together in His timing. I waited and waited and had no sign of it happening soon. I got discouraged and chose to focus on the blessings I already had in my life and used my time to draw myself closer to God through worship.
Shaun joined the church I was attending (CFM) around spring of 2023. He was a friendly person to be around. Everytime I had an opportunity to talk with Shaun, I would enjoy our conversations and I liked his personality; with time I started to have a crush on him. Our friend Akane invited us to a Korean food festival where Shaun and I got to know each other and I saw that we had a lot of things in common. I started to see that the attraction was reciprocated so I prayed more to know if it was God's Will for us to be together and I believe the Lord confirmed it to both me and him in special unique ways. The rest is history.
IF YOU ASK SHAUN: I had a desire for a significant other and was praying to the Lord for Him to send her into my life, but only if she would draw me closer to God. I desired a spouse who is thoughtful, humble and kind, has a similar sense of humor, and shares common values. Staci certainly fulfilled this criteria. I had spoken a few times with Staci but I was mostly focused on my schoolwork. We attended a food festival and got to know each other more. The attraction grew and the Lord really confirmed to me through various means that she was the one for me.
Since then, we have been dating and became each other's best friend. We took premarital counselling and discussed almost everything there is to talk about; Iām sure we are well suited for each other. After waiting for the right timing for her to finish school and my health to be restored, we got engaged and are excited to move into the next season of our lives together. I'm sure God has great things planned for us.
