Be lekker (relax), here's what you need to know...
THE DATES 27 December: The pre-party. We'll be chilling in Franschhoek. Join us if you've arrived early! Entirely optional. Scroll to the bottom to find where we are staying, in case you want to swing by or stay nearabouts. 28 December: The braai. First day of the wedding, with a very special braai (BBQ) at Molenvliet Wine Estate. We'll share details closer to the time. Scroll to the bottom for the Estate website. 29 December: The official day. Second day of the wedding at the Molenvliet Wine Estate. After breakfast, the day is yours to chill at Molenvliet, explore local wine estates, or join us for a spa day at Babylonstoren. If you want to explore the local wine estates, there is a tram that leaves from Boschendal Wine Estate down the road. We've provided some links below. The party kicks off late afternoon. 30 December to 3 January: The after-party. We've rented a home in Camps Bay. Beach vibes. Feel free to drop in and out as much as you'd like to enjoy Cape Town with us. Entirely optional. Scroll to the bottom to find where we are staying, in case you want to swing by or stay nearabouts. DO I NEED TO RSVP FOR ANYTHING? RSVPs are not required for the two days at the Molenvliet Wine Estate. Closer to the time, we'll ask you to give us a heads up about if you are considering the pre- and after-parties. WHERE ARE WE STAYING? Molenvliet Wine Estate is between the wineland towns of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Accommodation on the Estate for the nights of the 28th and 29th, is FULLY included as part of the wedding. All we ask is that you bring the vibes! Scroll to the bottom for the Estate website. DRESS CODE Very casual for the braai... we'll be wearing shorts. And please no suits for the second day, smart casual is the vibe. Phil's insisting that Quin doesn't wear black! It will be summer, so expect temperatures to be in the high twenties during the day and drop to the high teens in the evening. WHEN IS BEST TO BOOK FLIGHTS? Start looking now! December is summer in Cape Town, making it one of the most desirable cities for New Year tourism. You can save a good chunk of pennies by watching flights over the coming months and by being flexible with your inbound and return flights. It's often cheaper to stay a day or two longer to save on flights. DO I NEED A CAR? Yes. Most international rental companies operate out of South Africa. You don't need a 4x4, but we recommend an SUV if you go more rural. I WANT TO EXPLORE You absolutey should! Within a few hours of Cape Town you can experience everything from hundreds of wine estates to safari, rainforest, desert, and some of the world's best beaches. If adventure tourism is your thing then you'll love this part of the world. South Africa is also very LGBTQ+ friendly. Scroll to the bottom for websites that will help, but PLEASE message us to help you find something to suit you. ANYTHING ELSE? Come hungry. No gifts please. All we ask is that you come to have fun, and shower us with photos of your South African adventures and the days at Molenvliet. We've opted not to have a wedding photographer to avoid messing with the relaxed vibes. See the photos below? They're a little too much all about us. Let's make them all about you too. We'll have QR codes on the days for easy sharing. There's also a link below. LINKS
