How It All Began
In a world where many couples cross paths through serendipity or the gentle hand of fate, our story stands out as a tale of how our employers unwittingly became our matchmakers.
It all began with a chilly London evening in 2015, when we embarked on our first date. Little did we know that this seemingly ordinary evening would mark the start of an extraordinary journey. From the moment we met, there was an instant spark, and a realization that something truly special was unfolding before our eyes.
As the calendar pages turned, weeks seamlessly merged into months, and months gracefully transitioned into years. Along the way, we embarked on a whirlwind adventure where we found home in England, Greece and Australia, whilst traveling to 15 different countries together. Our love story has been a wonderful collection of countless cherished memories, plenty of tears, and shared adventures.
Then, after eight years of laughter, exploration, and growth, our story took a beautiful turn. Dan, chose a quiet, mid-afternoon moment on a secluded beach in Lefkada, Greece to craft the perfect proposal. As the sun bathed everything in a warm, golden glow, he dropped to one knee and asked those four life-changing words - 'Will you marry me?' To this, Marianna wholeheartedly said YES!
Now, as we stand at the brink of an exciting new chapter, we can't wait to see what the future holds. So, stay tuned for the next thrilling chapter in our epic love story! ❤️

We highly recommend ordering a Wise travel card prior to your journey. This is such a convenient way to travel with your spending money! The card can be loaded before and during your travel to Indonesia. You can then use the physical card, virtual mobile card, or withdraw cash whenever you need it at a great exchange rate, without paying bank fees. We have added a Link at the bottom of the FAQs.
ATM's are available but the only issue is that only small amounts per transaction are allowed (equivalent $150-300 AUD). Also, be aware that at a lot of ATM's you need to 'end your transaction' and your card is returned after the money is dispensed.
Eftpos/credit card is available in most medium to large restaurants, bars, beach clubs, hotels, and tourist attractions.
Ensure you have downloaded WhatsApp as many hotels, restaurants, and services use this application to communicate.
Getting around the Island
Bluebird Taxis are the most reliable, they have an app for booking and their meters are regulated with fixed pricing.
Rideshare apps Gojek and Grab (similar to Uber) are easy to use (with wifi) the most inexpensive and very popular.
Private drivers are good value if you have a group, plan to be out and about all day to different locations or are going long distances. Rates are always negotiable!
Q & A - What to pack
Sunscreen - While most of your favorite brand basic toiletries and cosmetics are available here at bargain prices (good tip if you are planning on traveling light) Sunscreen is very expensive and can be double the price you pay at home!
Clothing - The temperature in Bali is around 27 degrees all year and rarely falls below 22 at night even in the 'cooler' months. It can be very humid though. Stay cool and comfortable with light fabrics. Most places have a relaxed dress code and casual clothing is acceptable. There is also a huge range of resort wear, beachwear, streetwear, and high-end fashion available at very reasonable prices.
Shoes - Thongs, flats, sneakers, and sandals are pretty much the standard daywear here. Bali is an adventure, so make sure you have some comfy shoes for exploring!
