How we got here 🗺️
Some love stories start with fireworks. Ours started with… a Facebook logo.
We went to schools near each other but never properly crossed paths. Years ago, Richie messaged Olivia about creating a logo for her old photography page - she said yes, he delivered (graphic design king), and we went back to living separate lives. Every so often, we’d message each other, but nothing really happened… until one day, we started chatting and just never stopped.
Here’s the weird part: Olivia spent lots of time as a kid at her best friend’s auntie’s house - a house literally next door to where Richie grew up. We have no memory of meeting as kids, but it feels almost certain that we were in the same place at the same time.
Some people call it a coincidence. We call it invisible string theory - the idea that the people you’re meant to meet are already connected to you in some way, even before you realise it.
Our first date? Awkward, obviously. We’d never met before and ended up at a Mexican restaurant in town. Olivia, in a moment of panic, ordered something with black beans (she hates black beans). A disaster? Maybe. But clearly something clicked.
There’s no single moment that made us know this was it. It was the way we grew together. How we became best friends. How we always make each other laugh. How easy everything feels when we’re around each other.
On 17th March 2023, at the top of the Rockefeller Center in New York, Richie got down on one knee (nervous energy and all). Olivia definitely had a suspicion (he’d been acting weird all day.)
Now here we are: many years, adventures, inside jokes, and dodgy food orders later - getting married and so excited to celebrate with the people we love most.
