The ceremony will take place in Dětenice Castle gardens (weather permitting!) at 3pm on Saturday 21st June 2025. Pre-ceremony welcome drinks will be served inside from 2.30pm. The ceremony will be followed by dinner, then celebrations and drinks in the castle and gardens until late.

Comfortable semi-formal wedding attire. Please note some of the celebrations will take place outside on grass, so wear (or bring) comfortable shoes.

Dětenice Castle is located just under an hour's drive from the centre of Prague. It can be difficult to reach using public transport, so we would recommend getting to the venue by car or taxi. Bolt, Uber, or regular taxis can be easily booked from the airport or city centre and will cost approx. 1500CZK/£50/€60. If you'd like to split the cost of the journey let us know using the link below and we'll try and match you up with some other guests who might be travelling at the same time. We are planning to run two bus trips back to Prague the day after the wedding - the first leaving around 11am and arriving in Prague around midday, and the second leaving around 1.30pm and arriving around 2.30pm. If you would like to take the bus, please let us know at the link below which time you would prefer.

We're not expecting any wedding gifts as we appreciate that it costs a lot of money to make it over for the weekend, but if you would still like to get us something we've put together a registry of things we'd love for our honeymoon.

There are two hotels at the venue which are available for you to stay in. Rooms at both hotels include breakfast the following morning. Hotel Rustikal is just outside the castle gates, and has double rooms for 1895CZK (approx. £65/€75). Středověký hotel Dětenice is on the castle grounds and has two types of (medieval-themed) room: traditional double rooms for 3240CZK (approx. £105/€125) and knight's double rooms for 3840CZK (approx. £130/€150). Though rooms are for two people, in any of the rooms an extra bed can be added for 600CZK (£20/€25) To book, please send an email to info@detenice.cz and quote the password 'Alex & Olivia 2025'.
