When do we need to RSVP by?
Please submit your RSVP before 30th October.
Are the wedding ceremony, reception and other events at the same venue?
Yes, all events are at the same venue (Masseria Amastuola).
What meals are provided over the three days?
Dinner and drinks are provided by us. If you are staying on site at Masseria Amastuola, breakfast is also covered by us.
Where do we stay before and after the wedding?
We suggest you book an AirBnB or accommodation through Booking.com (often you can book with free cancellation and pay on arrival too!). We suggest staying in the centre of the old towns (centro storico).
What's everyone doing before and after the wedding (6-9 July)?
Most people are aiming to get into Puglia a few days before the wedding to ensure they can relax and adjust to the time difference. We suggest you allow a minimum of two days if travelling from New Zealand. We will be relaxing in Polignano a Mare the week before the wedding, and after the wedding we will be heading down to Monopoli (old town) for the rest of the week. If you'd like to join us, we suggest you book an AirBnB or one of the many lovely options you can find on Booking.com.
What do I need to know about Puglia?
Puglia (Apulia in English) is the sun-drenched heel of Italy’s boot, famous for its whitewashed hill towns, olive groves, vineyards, and sparkling Adriatic coastline. It’s a region rich in history, known for its relaxed pace of life, incredible food and wine, and postcard-worthy scenery - from ancient stone buildings to turquoise coves. Puglia is also a fascinating mix of contrasts. At first glance, much of the region feels rural and a little industrial, with flat farmland, olive groves, and winding roads. But scattered throughout are the most incredible historic towns - whitewashed hilltop villages, seaside cliff towns, and little old streets that feel like stepping back in time. It’s these gems that make Puglia so special, and exploring them is absolutely worth it.
What's there to see and do?
Explore Alberobello - wander among the iconic trulli houses with their conical stone roofs.
Visit Polignano a Mare - a cliffside town with breathtaking sea views and hidden coves for swimming.
Stroll through Ostuni - the “White City,” with winding streets, artisan shops, and gorgeous views.
Relax in Monopoli - a charming seaside town with a beautiful old port and sandy beaches.
Discover Lecce - known as the “Florence of the South” for its stunning Baroque architecture.
Enjoy local cuisine - from handmade orecchiette pasta to fresh seafood, burrata, and of course Puglian olive oil and wine. Or just relax at one of the many beautiful beaches dotted through the region!
Where is the closest airport?
Our venue, Masseria Amastuola, is in the heart of Puglia, so you’ve got a couple of good options:
- Brindisi Airport (BDS) – about 1 hour’s drive from the venue.
- Bari Airport (BRI) – about 1 hour 15 minutes’ drive from the venue.
Both airports have regular flights from major European cities and are easy to navigate. Renting a car is highly recommended, as it makes getting to the venue and exploring Puglia’s towns much easier.
How do I get around? What transport is there?
Renting a car is the easiest way to explore Puglia’s towns and countryside at your own pace. Ubers are very limited and there is no public transport. If you're not confident renting a car and driving yourself (particularly if travelling alone) please let us know so we can connect you with other guests who you can catch a ride with.
Will I have free time over the three days to explore?
Yes! Check in on the 6th is at 3pm so you'll have the morning to explore. On the day of the wedding (the 7th), we'll be starting late in the day due to the heat - so while we set up the venue, we suggest you relax by the pool or head out to explore the local towns. On the day after the wedding (the 8th), our recovery pizza/pool party will start at 2pm - so you'll have the morning free to explore (if you're feeling up to it!).
Are children invited to the wedding?
We’re so excited to celebrate our special day with all of our loved ones! To help create a relaxed atmosphere for everyone, our wedding will be predominantly adults-only. That said, your presence means the most to us, and we’d never want this to prevent you from joining the celebrations. If you need to make a special arrangement, please just let us know. A few little ones will be there already, and we’ll do our best to accommodate where needed.
I'm traveling from New Zealand, what's the best route to take?
There are multiple routes (many of which have exciting stop overs too e.g. Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong). However, the prices for flights into Italy can vary and often be expensive if not on sale. We suggest you look at routes into all major European airports (London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Paris) in addition to Milan and Rome, and then fly down to either Bari or Brindisi airport in Puglia.
Air New Zealand typically has a New Zealand-Europe sale on September - October, and sometimes again in February-March.
Whichever route you pick - we suggest a brief stop over and renting a day-use room at the airport to freshen up and relax before the second leg of the trip.
Where do we park?
Masseria Amastuola has plenty of free parking. However, if you're staying in any of the old towns before or after the wedding, make sure you check if your accommodation offers parking or find a public parking spot close to your accommodation (the old towns usually restrict parking and driving through them).
