The Wedding Party
Meet our lovely family and friends who will by our side on the big day!
Mrs. Anne Llewellyn
Mother of the bride Anne's love of horses has resulted in her competing and training all over the world. Almost 50 years ago, Anne and Roger established Ace Equipment, manufacturing garden centre trolleys, which continues to exist as a family business. She has always been a great role model and inspiration to Marie and Claire.
Mr. Peter Middleton
Godfather of the Bride Peter will be giving Marie away to Hamish at the alter.
Mrs. Sheila Corner
Mother of the Groom Hamish's mother, Sheila, is a well-known botanical artist and formerly a head teacher. On retiring she moved from Hertfordshire to Colwyn Bay, North Wales. She has been the most wonderful, supportive and inspiring mother to Rupert, Hamish and Fiona.
Mr. Rupert Corner
Best Man Hamish's elder brother, Rupert, is a tree surveyor, working for the electricity and railway companies. He is also a rugby coach and referee in North Wales, and is devoted to his local rugby club! On no account should anyone give him a whistle please! Rupert has assured Hamish he will only say nice things during his best man speech...!!
Maj. Lucy Scott
Matron of Honour Lucy and Marie met at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2007 when she commissioned into the Royal Artillery. She has been the best travel friend since, travelling all over the world together, with the last trip to support Marie in Ironman Cozumel.
Maj. Becky Roger
Matron of Honour Becky and Marie met in Catterick subsequent to commissioning at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. They have shared many experiences together including cold and wet Military Exercises and a deployment to The Falkland Islands during Covid-19.
Miss. Claire Llewellyn
Bridesmaid Claire is Marie's younger sister and also shares the same love of animals and the outdoors. She has her own very successful farm, rearing buffalo, sheep and pigs, some of the produce of which will be served at the evening reception.
Mr. Thomas Corner
Usher Tom is Hamish's eldest son and is mid-way through his BSc degree in Animal Health & Welfare at Harper Adams University (in Shropshire), with plans to work with big cats in the future!
Miss. Fiona Corner
Bridesmaid Fiona is Hamish's sister, and works for Alzheimer Scotland and runs a project placing companion dogs with Alzheimer patients. She is a wonderful and caring sister, (as well as being the life and soul of the party)!
Mr. Samuel Corner
Usher Sam is Hamish's younger son. He is about to graduate from Birmingham University, where he has read a BSc in Psychology. Congratulations in advance Sam!
Mrs. Louise Bond
Bridesmaid Lou and Marie met on Lou's first day on hospital placement and Marie's last. That conversation about Lou's VW campervan and Marie's beetle sealed their friendship. Since then they have been to VW car festivals together, bike rides, picnics and competed in Ironman Wales!
Mr. Phil Wicksteed
Usher Phil and Hamish have been life-long friends, having first met at Bedford School. Phil lives with his wife Lucy, and children Jasper and Betty, in Bristol. Our wedding day is coincidentally also Phil's birthday!!
Lt Col. Bea Notice
Bridesmaid Bea and Marie's friendship also started at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2007 and was formed solidly after she spent Christmas with the Llewellyns! She is a qualified Doctor and is the Vice President of Administration at the Caribbean Military Academy. Bea has flown over from Jamaica to be part of Marie's bridal party.
Sgt. Mike Devine
Usher Mike and Marie met over 20 years ago when she went on a familiarisation visit to The King's Troop. Since then they have had a strong friendship and shared many fun experiences. Mike is currently serving in the Light Cavalry of the Honourable Artillery Company and will leave the regular army in March 2025 after 24 years of Service.
Mr. John Britton
Usher John and Hamish have been friends for many years, dating back to their time together at Bedford School. John works in New York where he is a partner at a law firm. John is flying all the way over from the U.S. with his wife Brooke (who is a veterinary surgeon) for the big day!
Our story
On the 10th April 2023, a City lawyer asked an Army officer out for a drink. She replied, "Drinks aren't really my thing - how about supper?" And what a memorable supper it turned out to be. We have become inseparable since that day. We have so many common interests, especially running, photography, horses and classic cars. (And no, regardless of what Marie might say, Hamish has no plans to compete in an Ironman triathlon at any time soon!) We have also found in each other the very best of friends and soul mates. We've had many amazing experiences together since we met, including: • meeting the new addition to our family when she was 10 hours old (hint: she has four legs and neighs!), • open-water swimming 10 miles west of the Russian border (we didn’t dare to get any closer!), • cleaning a much-cherished Beetle convertible at Santa Pod Raceway (in torrential rain!), • and, of course, proposing on a crisp, snowy dawn in the Yorkshire Dales! We are so excited about the most special day of our lives and hope more than anything that you are able to share it with us. Everything that you need to know is set out below. We hope that you are able to join us, please RSVP at the bottom of this page! Thank you!

That said, we are both exceptionally sentimental, and so (as an alternative to the gift list) we would be delighted to receive a small reminder of you to look back on and treasure over the years. **GIFT LIST IS NOW LIVE**

Tips, notes & requests
CHURCH ETIQUETTE - Please arrive in plenty of time for both the ceremony and evening reception. Both venues will be busy, and the bride has threatened to be punctual! (...don't have a heart attack!). - If you wish to throw confetti, the Church Warden, Gay, has requested that only natural petal confetti is used (no rice or anything else please!). There will be an opportunity to do so on the path outside the church. - Please ensure that all phones are on silent during the service. - There is parking in fields which could be wet, at both the church and the marquee venues. PHOTOGRAPHY - You are politely requested not to take photographs in the church. - We have a photographer and videographer during the day to capture all of our memories. - All photographs will be available via our website at no cost after the wedding. A SPECIAL REQUEST - After the church service, Hamish and Marie will pass by the headstone of Marie's late father, Roger. He is buried just a few yards from the church, where he served as Church Warden for very many years. Hamish and Marie, joined by Marie's mother and sister, Anne and Claire, wish to spend a few moments to pay their respects to Roger, and they will place some flowers on his headstone. - We politely request that we are given these few minutes on our own as a family please, in order to do this - many thanks. - George, our photographer will be capturing this memory for us. SAFETY - Oakley Manor Farm is a working farm. The central part of the farm will be cordoned off or locked, and will not be accessible for safety reasons. - The champagne reception before the wedding breakfast will be on the front lawn in front of the farmhouse. Once guests leave champagne reception (lawn) to go through to the wedding breakfast (on the Middle Field), the gate to the front lawn will be locked and there will not be any further access. USE OF 'QUIET SPACE' - A very small number of our guests are currently undergoing long-term medical treatment. We are so grateful that they are making such an effort to come to our special day. - In order to take account of this, there is a 'quiet space' for them in the farmhouse. Unless invited, please do not come into the house (there are three dogs inside (one guard dog, one over affectionate dog and one very old and wise dog!) . Thank you. CHILDREN - Unfortunately, due to being at maximum capacity, there is insufficient space for children other than those already invited (family, godsons, bridal party). LAVATORIES - There will be lavatories at the reception but not at the church. LADIES - HIGH HEELS - The marquee has a hard floor but outside is only grass! If you are going to wear stilettos, these heel caps might be a worthwhile purchase. https://www.amazon.co.uk/stiletto-heel-protectors/s?k=stiletto+heel+protectors BAR - Please bring cash for the bar! Whilst the bar will have card machines, we know there is very poor phone/wifi signal at the venue. - Each evening guest will receive a couple of drinks tokens in their invitations (those who haven't will be given on arrival) to exchange for wine, beer or a soft drink at the bar. TAXIS - Please pre-book your taxis - Croxall is quite remote and the taxi companies can become quite busy (numbers on the taxi page). ACCESS - There is minimal walking involved - about 100 metres from the church car park to the church, and about 100 metres from the champagne reception to the wedding breakfast. There are not any steps/stairs involved. **We are so excited about our wedding day and for our wonderful friends and family to join us, thank you.**
