How do I change my RSVP?
If you completed the RSVP section and need to change it, please contact Lish or Dale
Can I bring my kids or a plus one?
Unfortunately, we can't extend the invite to all our friends and loved ones. You may also need to arrange a babysitter. Please refer to the RSVP section to see who is listed on your invite. Some people will receive an invite just for themselves, others will be showing as a couple or family which lists who is invited.
Where is the Ceremony and Reception being held?
Bewong River Retreat
2395 Princes Hwy, Bewong NSW 2540, Australia.
Refer to the 'Schedule' section. You can also click on the link to get directions (the entrance is pretty much next door to a petrol service station).
What time do I need to be at the venue for the Ceremony?
2:30pm, so DON'T BE LATE!
Guests can commence arriving from 2:20pm. This will allow for a short period of time for you to be seated and for the smoking ceremony to be undertaken before the bride walks down the aisle!
How do I get entry into the Retreat?
We will send you a message with a code for the gate on the day before your arrival. There will also be a security guard/first aid officer as well as a site coordinator to assist guests on the day.
What should I wear?
Dress code is smart/dressy casual. It's a wedding.... (no jeans, t-shirts, flip-flops, or worn-out clothing etc.). So look nice, but be comfortable too!
Is there plenty of parking at the venue?
Sure is!
If we have secured accommodation at the venue for you, you may need to drive your car from the accommodation section to the parking section where the Ceremony and Reception is being held.
Who's in the Wedding party?
We have decided not to have a wedding party. We want to honour everyone as our nearest and dearest.
Where will I be seated for the Ceremony?
Wherever you like (though some people will need to stand). A number of seats are also reserved for parents and immediate family members-these will have a tag on them.
Where will I be seated for the Reception?
You'll find out on the day where you will be seated as there will be a seating chart.
What time does the Reception finish?
10:30pm. All guests must commence leaving at this time.
I have to travel, where will I stay?
If we have not been able to offer you accommodation, please refer to the Accommodation Information section on this website. Please book this well in advance and be mindful of travel time between your accommodation and the wedding venue.
I am attending the Bucks Night, where will I get ready for the wedding the next day?
1. If you and people in your wedding party are staying at the retreat, please return there to get ready, or
2. Family members staying at the Lawrence residence, to return there to get ready, or
3. At your own arranged accommodation.
I want to drink, how will I get to and from where I will be staying?
For those we are not able to offer accommodation to at the venue, either don't drink alcohol, assign a designated driver that we have also invited to the wedding, or pre-book a taxi. If you are staying at the venue, please note, you will need to drive between the accommodation area to the Reception location.
Can I bring my own alcohol to the Reception?
Nope, strictly not allowed, but don't worry we will be providing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Please also remember, it's a wedding, so don't overdo it. Anyone that has clearly had one too many, will be asked to leave.
I'm staying at the Retreat, do I have to bring my own food?
You will need to bring your own food. There is a kitchen and appliances for those staying in the bungalows. For those camping, there are also barbecue facilities outside. Refer to the RSVP and your Schedule section for more information. There are shops where you can buy groceries and other items, approx. 20 mins driving distance from the retreat.
What if I'm unwell on the day?
If you are quite unwell with a contagious illness, we kindly ask that you do not attend as this puts others at risk. If you have mild cold or flu-like symptoms, please consider wearing a face mask.
Can I post photos on Social Media?
While we are happy for you to take photos on the day, we kindly ask that you refrain from sharing photos on your socials until we have had the opportunity to share ours. We will also have a photobooth on the day, so be sure to get some instant snaps with your friends and loved ones!
Can I bring my pet?
No. Pets are not allowed at Bewong River Retreat.
What if it's raining?
Don't worry we have planned for this possibility. We've got you covered! It is recommended though, you bring an umbrella, just in case. If it rains it rains, it will still be a special day!
Anything I should be aware of?
To ensure everyone has a great time, we ask that all guests be on their best behaviour and respectful to everyone in attendance.
Please also be considerate as some of our family members have special needs, and their comfort with the events on our wedding day is a priority.
Please also respect the bush and wildlife at Bewong and beware of snakes.
