There are lots of lovely places to stay nearby, from cosy pubs and B&Bs to holiday rentals and hotels just a short drive away. This part of Dorset is a real holiday hotspot, so you’ll also find a huge choice of Airbnbs across the surrounding areas.
Areas to look at
We’d particularly recommend Poole (where Ella’s family is based), which is around a 15-minute drive from the venue. We’re close to Poole Quay, where there’s always something going on and plenty of places to eat and drink. Poole Old Town is especially lovely, with lots of cafés, pubs and restaurants.
Closer to the venue, Sandbanks, Whitecliff, Lilliput and Westbourne are all great options and tend to have lots of excellent Airbnb choices.
A little further along the coast, Bournemouth is about a 10-minute drive from the venue and has plenty happening - famously grannies by day, ravers by night - plus a wide range of hotels.
If you’d prefer somewhere a bit more inland, Wimborne Minster is around a 25-minute drive away and is a beautiful, characterful town with lots of charm.
Airbnb / self-catering
There are also lots of self-catering options locally, including both Airbnb and a brilliant local agency:
Quay Living Holidays - a family-run local agency offering well-located holiday homes and apartments
https://quayholidays.co.uk/properties. If you would like to email with what you are looking for, you can contact Hannah at stay@quayholidays.co.uk for recommendations!
Airbnb - a wide range of options across Sandbanks, Poole and the surrounding areas
Pubs with rooms
There are plenty of pubs with rooms locally. A couple that come particularly well-reviewed are:
The Canford - a charming boutique pub with rooms, very close to the venue
https://www.thecanford.co.uk/
The Crown Hotel - a characterful pub with rooms in Poole town
https://crownhotelpoole.co.uk/
The Inn In The Park - bright pub, restaurant and B&B also very close to the venue

Hotel suggestions
If you’re leaning towards a hotel rather than an Airbnb, a few we’d recommend are:
The Nici - a stylish, resort-style hotel overlooking Bournemouth beach
https://thenici.com/
Hotel du Vin Poole - elegant and ideally located near Poole Quay
https://www.hotelduvin.com/locations/poole/
The Sandbanks Hotel - right on the beach and along the promenade from the venue

Harbour Heights Hotel - set back from the beachfront

The Haven Hotel - great facilities and the Studland ferry just outside

We've included some pictures below so you can get a feel of some of the options. All of these can be found on Booking.com, but the best rates are usually available by booking direct.
Note that for The Sandbanks, Harbour Heights and The Haven, the same hotel manager (Paul) oversees all three and can sometimes offer better group rates if you’re staying as a group: reservations.manager@fjbhotels.co.uk.
