Our Love Story
Kate and Leah met on the diamonds of Chuck Klein Sports Complex over the summer of 2021 doing what they love... playing softball! It wasn't exactly "love at first sight" because Kate wasn't really Leah's type ;) Don't worry, they'll both admit it! They'll also both admit it was Kate's persistence and charm that Leah fell for (maybe a few other things too). Kate fell for Leah's unwaivering kindness, beautiful soul, and incredible softball skills.
Kate and Leah both love sports and regularly play on softball, dodgeball and volleyball teams together. They found themselves enjoying the outdoors, floating down rivers, exploring campgrounds, visiting new cities, chatting over dinner dates, attending music festivals, and most importantly --- spending quality time with their friends and family.
Before they knew it, all of these beautiful memories over the months turned into years and they decided to take the next step and move in together. Kate was constantly finding new ways to build sh... (oops) stuff, and Leah always made the yard and landscaping beautiful. Even strangers of the neighborhood would compliment the beautiful flowers on the side and front of the house. Leah always adoringly said that "Kate made the house a home". Kate was just thankful that Leah kept everything that was beautiful alive.
In August of 2024 just a day after Leah's Birthday, surrounded by many softball friends, Leah surprised EVERYONE and dropped down on one knee to propose to Kate on the same diamond they met about 3 years prior! #DiamondsOnDiamonds. But, as many would suspect, Kate also wanted to pop the question. In September of 2024 on a trip to Muskegon State Park in Michigan, Kate surprised Leah with a diamond ring of her own at the same place her parents had met and family has vacationed their entire lives.
Last January, Kate and Leah took the next big step and bought a home together. It basically became a tradition for all big decisions to happen in January, so this year, they added another member to their family. A "little" Doberman puppy, Klein - named endearingly after the same softball fields where they first met! Klein's older (feline) "brother", Arnie hasn't quite warmed up to him just yet, but there's always hope.
