Where our journey begins...
Marataba Safari Lodge
Marataba means "Place of Sanctuary" and "Where the Plains meet the Mountains".
Nestled within a private concession of the Big Five Marakele National Park, we discovered our dream wedding venue, Marataba Safari Lodge.
It is here, between the Waterberg mountains and the plains, that we will exchange vows and begin our forever together.
We would be truly honoured to have you join us for the weekend of November 28th 2025 - November 30th 2025 as we celebrate our union in this extraordinary setting, surrounded by the people we love most.

“Shisha Nyama” - Bush Braai
Check-in at Marataba Safari Lodge from 13:00 and be served with a refreshing welcoming drink.
Take time to explore the lodge and enjoy a complimentary lunch which will be served upon your arrival.
The weekend celebrations start at 16:00 with a game drive followed by a Bush Braai, also known as a "Shisha Nyama", at 19:00.

The Day of I Do's
Start your day with an early morning game drive or sleep in to be well rested for the big day.
Delicious breakfast will be served from 09:00 - 11:00.
Enjoy a poolside cocktail, spa treatment, or retreat to your suite for relaxation before the wedding formalities start at strictly 15:00.
You will be collected at reception from 15:00 to be transported to the bush ceremony site.

Farewell Brunch
Embark on your last early morning game drive or choose to recover in your suite from the celebrations of the night before.
A Farewell Brunch will be held between 09:00-11:00.
Check-out at 11:00.
Dress Code - Traditional African
For the "Shisha Nyama" or Bush Braai
Ladies
Traditional African entails natural fabrics with bright colours and bold patterns, emphasizing the richness of African cultures and traditions in the local area. If you prefer to be less daring, you may opt for a bright coloured dress paired with Traditional African beads or jewelry.
Gentlemen
A chino paired with the iconic veldskoen, better known as "vellies", and a Traditional African shirt is the perfect choice for the occasion. If you do not have an African shirt, a light fabric shirt with a Traditional African accessory is encouraged.

For the Wedding Ceremony & Reception
Ladies
Safari Vogue entails formal dress attire with a twist of Safari Chic. Think elegant dresses, jumpsuits, or suits paired with your favourite safari accessory. Bear in mind that you must be able to move with ease and climb on a game viewer. Block heels or wedges are advised as the ceremony will be in the bush. Please wear neutral tones to blend in with nature and the colour scheme.
Gentlemen
Suits with a light and breathable fabric are encouraged. No jeans or shorts. Please wear neutral tones to blend in with nature and the colour scheme. Feel free to decline the tie.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Marataba Safari Lodge is exclusively reserved for our guests.
Kindly note that all guests are required to stay at the lodge for both the Friday and Saturday evening.
A small sub-charge for the accommodation will apply.

All meals, refreshments, and a wide selection of drinks are included throughout the weekend.
A full list of the included drinks will be provided prior to your arrival at the lodge.
Directions
Marataba Safari Lodge is situated approximately 45 kilometres outside Thabazimbi, Limpopo.
