How do I get there?
- Find your way to highway 60 that traverses on the southern border of Algonquin Park.
- Turn NORTH off highway 60 onto Arowhon road (15.6 km from the west gate and 41 km from the east gate)
- Drive 9km on Arowhon road into the back country of Algonquin park.
- You will come to one fork in the road, keep LEFT following signs for Camp Arowhon (NOT right towards Arowhon Pines).
- If you think you are lost you are not, keep driving as the road only leads to the camp and the camp is at the end of the road.
- FYI Arowhon road is a single lane dirt road, would not recommend bringing sports cars.
What do I need to bring?
You know Emma loves a good kit list!
- Bedding: Sleeping bags and pillows. If you do not have sleeping bags, sheets and warm blankets (it can get chilly at night in September). All cabins are heated. If you're flying in, please reach out to us — we've got you covered.
-Clothing: Weather can be variable in September so layers are a great option. Bring comfortable active clothes for the days activities (and swim suits, running/hiking shoes!). For the wedding, bring something dressy casual.
-Shower supplies: If you're showering at camp, bring your own towels, shower shoes (flip flops), and toiletries.
-Snacks: Your accommodation cost for the weekend does cover all meals and food. However, if there are particular snacks or drinks that you like, you are permitted to bring snacks and drinks as well.
What does the accommodation fee include?
For $150/adult (14+ years old), $100/child (5-13 years old) ($CAD) you get:
- 2 nights accommodations in cabins
- All your meals (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast/lunch, Sunday Brunch)
- Access to all camp activities from swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, tennis, soccer, bouldering, ball hockey, baseball, and lawn games
- Beer and wine will be provided on Friday night, feel free to bring anything else you'd like to drink on Friday!
- A full bar will be provided by the bride and groom for Saturday's celebration.
How do I book / pay for the weekend at Camp Arowhon?
- Please enter your contact info above, and we will let you know when it's time to RSVP!
- Funds for you and your party attending for the weekend can be sent via E-Transfer or PayPal to jason.schandl@gmail.com. Emma and Jason will then forward the funds to the camp. If neither of those payment methods work for you please reach out!
- Cabins will be assigned by Emma and Jason (thank you for understanding!)
Do I have to share a cabin?
No! Every couple and family will have their own space to themselves and access to a bathroom (toilet + sink). Showers are in a separate shower building with individual shower stalls available (with the exception of a few cabins that have their own). If there is a group you would like to bunk with let us know as there are dormitory style cabins available for larger groups. Emma and Jason will be assigning the cabins according to party size.
Is there cellphone service or WiFi?
- Cell service is quite limited with some service available around the main lodge.
- There is no Wi-Fi available.
Can I bring my pet?
Although there are dogs that live at Camp Arowhon, unfortunately we cannot bring additional pets to the camp. There is a local doggie spa that comes highly recommended and offers reasonable prices that is not far from the venue. Here is the website for info if your pup is in need of a little spa weekend:
