We will be staying in our favourite Rhodes resort of Pefkos where our evening reception will be held. Our ceremony is taking place in Lindos which is around a 15 minute drive from Pefkos. Both places are beautiful and would make a lovely base to stay. Some information about the two resorts can be found below. Pefkos or Pefki, Greek: Πεύκος (Πεύκοι), is a well-known beach resort located on eastern coast of Rhodes, just 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) southwest of Lindos, and 43 kilometres (27 mi) from the capital city Rhodes Town. Pefkos was once known as a fishermen's hamlet located along the coastal road that connects the villages of Lindos and Lardos. Visiting Pefkos by day will leave one with the impression of a quiet and relaxed holiday resort; however when the lights come on the resort is bustling with warm, friendly activity. The main Pefkos beach (Lee beach) is a pure sand beach and is a Blue Flag status awarded beach for 2008. The beach is busy with tourists during the day, currently there are 3 restaurants on the waterfront. The beach is quiet, with no motorised watersports. Pefkos, until recently was underdeveloped, but is now swiftly evolving in an important tourist resort, mostly offering self-catering holiday accommodation (villas and apartments) while its commercial centre has many amenities and a large range of restaurants, tavernas and bars. The resort is set against a hill which is surrounded by Pine trees from which the town gets its name. Lindos is a town on the Greek island of Rhodes. It’s known for its clifftop acropolis, which features monumental 4th-century gates and reliefs from about 280 B.C. The Temple of Athena Lindia sits above an earlier temple. On the site’s lower level is the 14th-century Castle of the Knights of St. John. Among the town’s whitewashed buildings, the Virgin Mary of Lindos Church has 15th-century frescoes. It's famous for its picturesque whitewashed village, stunning beaches, and the ancient Acropolis offering breathtaking views. Lindos is a popular day trip and also a charming place to stay for a relaxing getaway. The village has a relaxed and enchanting atmosphere, especially in the evenings when it comes alive. Lindos offers a different feel compared to other parts of Rhodes, with its unique blend of history, natural beauty, and vibrant village life. It is part of a group of hotels and you can also use the amenities at the sister hotels (island blue and pefki island which are next door) all three of these hotels are on jet 2 / est jet and TUI . It’s 5 mins to the beach and about 15 mins walk into the centre of Pefkos where the main bars and restaurants are, has a children’s pool and little play area. Self Catering There are also loads of self catering apartments we usually stay at Pefkos Blue it’s very basic rooms but gorgeous pool area with stunning views of the bay, it’s at the top of a hill the locals call “heart attack hill” so not for the faint hearted we usually walk down and taxi back up !
