Our Love Story
They say love finds you when you least expect it and mine found me in the form of a Facebook message.
At first, I didn’t give it much thought.
He was just another name in my inbox, another DM I didn’t bother to open with my heart.
But he was persistent.
Message after message, month after month his quiet pursuit continued.
And then, in November, I gave him my number.
Still, silence followed. No call. Nothing.
I moved on with life, never imagining what would come next.
Then came May 9th, a Sunday I will never forget.
That morning, I went for evangelism for the very first time.
I was fasting, praying and asking God for a good partner.
Not someone perfect, but someone real.
Someone sent by grace.
That evening, I returned home and saw a message from him again.
This time, he didn’t just send words but he sent pictures.
And then the boldest statement yet:
“I want to marry you.”
I stared at the message, thinking, Who is this man? What kind of person says that so directly?
Still, I ignored it.
Until the phone rang.
He spoke gently but firmly.
And then he said something that reached a part of me I didn’t know was listening:
“Why is it that when women meet good men, they don’t give them a chance?
Instead, they chase the ones who end up breaking them?”
That one sentence opened a door.
It made me pause, reflect, and for the first time truly listen.
And so we began.
From messages to calls, from strangers to partners.
Love grew not through grand gestures, but through quiet truth, honesty, and faith.
Four years have passed since that call.
And every day, I thank God I answered it.
Our love didn’t arrive in fairy tale it came through persistence, timing, and a prayer whispered on a Sunday afternoon
