Our Story
Emma lived in the peaceful countryside of England. Chad was thousands of miles away, east of the Rocky Mountains in Canada. For years, they flew across the Atlantic—sometimes Emma, sometimes Chad—just to spend a few days together. Their relationship was built on time zones, airport hugs, and the kind of love that made distance feel small. Now, after countless flights and unwavering commitment, they’re starting a new chapter—together, in the same place at last.

Frequently Asked Questions
We've pulled together a handy Q&A to help you get the info you need in no time—so you can focus on the fun stuff!
When do we need to RSVP by?
Due to the coordination between Canada and the UK, we are hoping to handle some logistics sooner rather than later. If you would please submit your RSVP, as soon as possible, but definitely before October 31, it would really help us out. Thank you!!!
How early should I arrive to the UK?
That is totally up to you! If you are planning to arrive just before the wedding, we would suggest trying to arrive in the UK by Wednesday, May 20th. That will allow at least 2 evenings in the UK prior to the wedding, so that you can get the jet lag behind you and you will have the energy to make it to the end of the party! If you are visiting for more days than the wedding itself, we would suggest putting those days before the wedding day. We are hoping to plan a couple days of excursions or suggested places to visit before the wedding day.
Where do we go, once we get to England?
We are having the wedding in the county of Kent, in the South East part of England. This means, if you fly into London, we will have to make sure you can get to the nearest city to the venue - Canterbury. There are a few ways to get there and Emma and Chad are happy to help ensure your travel arrangements will get you there in time. However, here are a few methods: 1) Take the Train London has a great train system, though you may not enjoy it as much after a 9 hour flight from Canada. However, it is possible to take the Underground from London Heathrow in the Piccadily Line to Kings Cross Station (yes, the Harry Potter one). From there, it's a short walk (maybe 4-5 minutes) from Kings Cross Station, to St. Pancras Station (it is across the street). From St. Pancras you can take a high-speed train from London, all the way to Canterbury West station. 2) Taxi There are some taxis that can take you direclty from your airport to Canterbury. If this is of interest, let us know and we can put you in touch with Green Light (friends of Emma) that are right out of the local village and make trips to the airport all the time. If you are from England… we are sorry this is focused towards the Canadians; but we figured you know your way around your wee island well enough. That being said, if you need assistance getting anywhere, reach out to Chad… he will give you the best directions. Solid. 100P. You will be in a great spot!
Are the wedding ceremony and the reception at the same venue?
No, the ceremony will be held in the town of Sandwich (30 minutes from Canterbury) and the reception will be in the village of Ickham (10 minutes from Canterbury). They are about 20 minutes drive from each other - but we have arranged transfers for the day for our guests (as much as we can).
Should we worry about any dangerous wildlife during this wedding?
While we wanted to make sure that it was an exciting day, we can confirm we were unable to bring any Canadian wildlife out to England. So there will be no bears, beavers nor moose to threaten guests. However, we would remind the Canadians that visit, to be aware that England has some of the nastiest, most dangerous.... plant-life. Keep an eye out for 'stinging nettles' while walking through any green spaces, and avoid it touching your skin. You will regret it if you don't. As Hagrid said, "Mind the nettles". Here is some information: https://www.britannica.com/plant/stinging-nettle
Is there a wedding registry / gift list?
No, there is no such registry nor list. We are excited for you to join us, we do not expect gifts. :)
Accommodation Information
For out of town visitors, Canterbury, is the main city near the ceremony. It has lots of walking areas, shopping, and has the main bus station hub. We would recommend staying in Canterbury, as it has the most options to explore both within the city and to get out to some of the other towns/villages nearby. If you have any questions about accommodation, please do not hesitate to reach out to Emma or Chad. We are happy to help out where we can to make sure you are staying somewhere you will enjoy. Our suggestion would be to stay near the middle of the city. While neither of us have actually stayed in Canterbury, here are some potential hotels that we have heard good things about. You could also search AirBnB's in the area if that would be more suitable for your family.
