Our Love Story
Phil and Andrea's paths crossed when Andrea joined Whistler Mountain Ski Patrol as a volunteer in December 2017. Phil showed off his rope prowess in a training session at the Harmony Bump one day and by the Spring they were dancing in the slush of the Ski and Snowboard Fesitval together. With Phil living in his van, and needing somewhere to park, Andrea's Whistler driveway became a popular meeting spot. After seeing each other every day for a month in May 2018, they both knew they had a special connection. They bonded over their love of skiing, running, climbing and looking at snowflakes.
In 2020, they accidentally bought a home together and when they are not stuffing insulation into the roof during a heatwave or digging foundation trenches in a monsoon, you will find them playing in the mountains. In September 2024, on a windy ridge in the Isle of Skye, Scotland, Phil uncomfortably knelt down on some sharp rocks and asked Andrea to marry him.
Marriage was never the end goal. It is simply the beginning of our next chapter together.
