Our Love Story
Phil and Andrea's paths crossed when Andrea joined Whistler Mountain Ski Patrol as a volunteer in December 2017. Phil showed off his rope prowess in a training session at the Harmony Bump one day and by the Spring they were dancing in the slush of the Ski and Snowboard Fesitval together. With Phil living in his van, and needing somewhere to park, Andrea's Whistler driveway became a popular meeting spot. After seeing each other every day for a month in May 2018, they both knew they had a special connection. They bonded over their love of skiing, running, climbing and looking at snowflakes. In 2020, they accidentally bought a home together and when they are not stuffing insulation into the roof during a heatwave or digging foundation trenches in a monsoon, you will find them playing in the mountains. In September 2024, on a windy ridge in the Isle of Skye, Scotland, Phil uncomfortably knelt down on some sharp rocks and asked Andrea to marry him. Marriage was never the end goal. It is simply the beginning of our next chapter together.

Accommodation Information
We have a hold on hotel rooms and a few cabins at Manning Park Resort. Cabins will be made available for the wedding party, as these must be booked for a minimum of two nights. (We have created a cabin plan and will let you know which cabin you are in). For guests who plan to stay one night, the only option for accommodation is a hotel room. Among the hotel rooms, there are two mini-suites available for those who want a little more space. These reservations cannot be accessed online. To book, please contact the Front Desk at 604-668-5922 and info@manningpark.com. The best times to contact the Front Desk staff are before 9am and after 6pm. You will be required to provide an advance deposit in order to secure your individual reservation. Please feel free to arrive earlier/stay later. Check-in time is 4pm with check-out at 11am. The hold on these accommodations will be in place until May 16 2026 so please confirm your booking before then. We wanted to make this event accessible to all so if hotel rooms are not within your comfort budget, there are plenty of tenting and RV options on site aswell. To book these, please go to BC Parks website.
Frequently Asked Questions
We've pulled together a handy Q&A to help you get the info you need in no time. We will continue to add to this as new questions arise. Please reach out if you have any questions that have not already been addressed here.
When do we need to RSVP by?
Please submit your RSVP before Wednesday December 31st
Are the wedding ceremony and the reception at the same venue?
Yes, they are both happening in Manning Park. The ceremony will be an outdoors affair with the reception and ceilidh taking place in the Alpine Room.
What the heck is a Ceilidh? (Pronounced cay-lee)
It is a traditional Scottish dance. Think a Canadian Barn Dance with kilts. It can get pretty rowdy after a few whisky's and you will likely sweat so get ready for a spinny, jumpy, twirly time! Don't worry, there are slower dances too and you can take lots of breaks. Speaking from experience, I recommend the ladies bring a pair of comfortable flat shoes to change into.
Are children welcome?
We're excited to celebrate our special day with all of our loved ones. To ensure everyone can relax and enjoy the festivities, we kindly request that our wedding be primarily an adults affair. We understand this may be difficult for some parents and exceptions may be necessary. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to share this joyous occasion with you.
Are dogs welcome?
Yes, the resort is dog friendly. They offer designated dog-friendly cabins and lodge rooms ($30/per pup/per night). If you are sharing a cabin, please consider the other guests before making your decision to bring your pup.
Who is invited to the ceremony?
We are so excited to celebrate with you all but our ceremony is going to be a more private affair with a small group of our friends and family. Phil can barely share his feelings with me nevermind a whole group of judgemental ski patrollers! Seriously though, the ceremony is a small part of this amazing weekend together and we hope you will still join for dinner and dancing.
What should I wear/bring?
It's definitely not black tie but it would be nice if people were formal. Let's take this opportunity to dress up a little West Coast folks. Please no MMA sport shorts (you know who you are!) There's a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and lake for your amusement. We recommend bringing swimwear.
Wedding Gifts
Wedding gifts are not neccessary. We understand that everyone is traveling to celebrate with us and that is gift enough. If you are compelled to do so, we would graciously accept donations towards our honeymoon.
