Where to Stay
You're welcome to join us in Fiji for as long, or short, as you like!
For those keen to stay at the Sofitel, a discount is available for wedding guests. There are also plenty of other accommodation options on Denarau Island - we've included some below, along with their distance from the venue.
Our plans: we'll both be at the Sofitel Fiji from the 5th - 9th June (Alana will get there earlier, on the 1st June). If you'll arrive before the wedding weekend and would like to catch up, let us know your travel dates.
Important Information
We know that having a destination wedding means you'll need a bit more information from us - you can find answers to common questions below, but please reach out to us directly if you need anything else.
How do I get there?
The best airport to fly into is Nadi International, located a short 30-minute drive from Denarau Island.
There are direct flight options daily from most Australian & Kiwi capital cities. The flight time is approx. 5 hours from Melbourne, or 4 hours from Sydney and Wellington.
What about children?
On the wedding day, little ones are welcome to join us for the ceremony and cocktail hour, but the reception (from 6pm) is for adults only.
The pre-wedding welcome dinner and recovery afternoon will both be child friendly. To help us plan, please let us know if they will be joining these events when you RSVP.
Child-minding services are available through most resorts on Denarau Island. For parents staying at the Sofitel, information on babysitting and the daytime kids club can be found here:
https://www.sofitel-fiji.com/clubs-and-lounges/niu-beach-club-for-kids/
What about gifts?
Travelling to share our special day with us is your gift, so we strongly encourage you not to provide another.
However, for those who insist a wishing well will be available.
Do I need to stay on Denarau Island?
Absolutely not! Denarau Island is convenient as all resorts and the marina (where you'll find shops, restaurants and local activities) are close by, but you're welcome to stay wherever suits you best.
Outside Denarau, the next closest hotel options are in Nadi Bay, a short 20-minute drive from the Sofitel. If you'd like to venture further down the coast, the Hilton Doubletree on Sonaisali Island is around 30-minutes from the venue. A little further out, the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is a 47-minute drive from the venue.
What transport is available?
You can walk between some resorts on Denarau, but transfers between local hotels and taxis are also available - your accommodation provider will be able to organise these for you.
In Denarau, you can also use the Bula Bus - this is a local bus that does a loop between Denarau resorts and the local marina throughout the day. The service runs approx. every 10-minutes (though Fiji time is notoriously flexible!) and a day pass is around $10FJD.
What weather should I pack for?
We'll be there during Fiji's dry season - you can expect warm days and comfortably cool evenings, with the temperature staying between 20-29 degrees.
RSVP
Please let us know if you can join us by the 7th February 2025.
Note that accommodation books up quickly as it's peak travel time in Fiji - so the sooner, the better!
